Near the end of my first year of college, I went to see the Dean of Students to tell him I would not be returning next year because i didn't have enough money for the year. I added that I would work next year with the plan to return the following year, and asked if the College would save my place in the class. He told me to return to my room and that he would be calling me later that day. He called me a couple hours later to inform me that he had found an anonymous sponsor who would cover my expenses next year. The kindness he and that stranger showed helped me toward living the life I have now all these years later.
