A dear friend

 20 years ago, a dear family friend discovered that I was recently diagnosed with a serious cardiac abnormality. He drew on favors to get me into the best cardiologist in the city. Through a significant blizzard and in the still dark of the morning, this friend came early to the hospital on the day of my procedure to wish me luck and bring treats for the medical staff. These were totally selfless acts of kindness which forever bring profound gratitude. Solely because of him, I have two lifesaving cardiac devices and I literally carry his kindness in my heart.
